It’s a-maize-ing

Here is another chip in that just keeps on giving. Before last maize season South Pine Community Church donated enough money to create a maize field at Willow Park as well as money to purchase our first bag of seed. Even though baboon and wild pig enjoyed the spoils of some of our crop, we had been able to save enough money to purchase another 2 bags of seed for 2 acres of maize for this season.

Once again baboon have been lurking around and dining on some of our crop; but we have harvested enough green maize to purchase another two bags of seed for next season as well as feed the children in Samkele and our workers for 2 weeks with this green maize … but I know you want more … let me tell you this … this harvest is only from our first acre, we still have another acre of maize to harvest to grind into mealie meal. This ground maize will go a long way it feeding the children at Samkele and our workers this year.
